We found someone to teach! And I'm talking someone real, haha! (not that the people online aren't real, it's just, well, ya...) His name is Fonglee, he's from China. He has a wonderful family, a wife and three kids (pretty unusual for a family just recently moved family China). It's so amazing :) They are wonderful, and Fonglee speaks good english (his wife not so much). Anyways, it was a miracle that we found them. We door knocked into them (whaaat? that never happens), and they were just going back to China, for a month. I put it down in my planner with little faith. Then, the ward started a 40 day fast, where one person fasts each day for 40 days, all for finding people in missionary work. I've been praying every day to find someone to teach, and all of my fasts have been focused on that. So, when a month went by and that little date in my planner came up, I was like "couldn't hurt to try!" Ha, good thing we did try, they had just got back and we taught the restoration and left them with a Book of Mormon. Miracle? I think yes. By faith all things can be done. |
Anyways, a member sent me this picture the other day, and I almost fell out of my chair laughing. The funny thing was, I had just taught someone online an entire lesson based around the Articles of Faith. Oh my days, sooooo funny.
We have a new missionary here in the Digital Zone! I'm back into a companionship with Elder Wright to finish up my training (he's told me I was trained before I got out here, I don't believe him). Elder Caruso is his name, and I've been serving with him the past few days because Elder Gill and Elder Wright are still recovering. He's from Italy, and he's a really great guy. Watching him progress here in the digital zone has really shown me how far I've come. It's amazing how much I'm being built into a new person by the Lord out here.
Something I've realized out here, that's kind of freaking me out, is that I'm actually on my mission. Yeah, crazy huh? You would think I would have realized that earlier. But, it's strange. I can't really explain it fully, but basically, I've kind of been preparing my whole life for this, and now I'm here, and I'm beginning to see that the path is becoming mine. Now I have to actually figure out what's next. I'm really just leaving it up to God. There's a lot of faith there, which I'm almost completely comfortable with :) It's just funny not having it all be "in the future".
Well, that's about all I've got. Oh, could I get our carrot cake recipe? I promised a member I'd make it for our DA on Friday. Haha :)
Love you all, thank you for your support.
Cheers,
Elder Foster
