Mom!
Yesterday was insane, almost every missionary in the Reading Zone was at a Stake Sports day that actually happened on a track and field establishment. It was sooooooo awesome. Easily the best Stake event I've ever been to. A whole bunch of non-members there as well, which made for wonderful missionary work. Anyways, that's why I'm emailing you on a Tuesday, because our whole week has been shifted around for that event. Had to grab Matt's phone and use it to email you something, because I realized I hadn't warned you...sorry :)
Anyways, now I'm a lobster because I've been in England so long I've forgotten what it means to get sunburned, or even what the sun is in the first place.
Tons of stuff has happened this week; it's really been insane. Elder Astorga and I buckled down and worked super hard, with the result of finding eight new people to teach. That's definitely a personal mission record. There were so many prepared people that the Lord put in our path, that we don't really know what to do with ourselves this next week except go home to home and teach them all :)
It's truly been a blessing to just dive back into the work and put everything behind me. When I focus and thank God, I'm always blessed. Plus, it helps to have awesome companionship unity and a love for the guy at your side.
Elder Astorga and I really have a way with teaching. It's a blessing to have someone who complements the gifts of the Spirit that you yourself have with their own. I've definitely found that every companionship that I am in has something for me to learn, a new skill to develop, and always a new friend to be made. As for those that we are teaching, I'll be able to tell you a lot more about them this next week. One thing I've come to notice is that as amazing as some street and doorstep teaches can be, it's the first lesson in the home that will define the relationship you have with this person, and is a type of preview of how their path to Christ will be
.
I have a lot of faith in them :) Can't wait to tell you how our area is progressing. My teaching style and confidence in the field has really turned around. I feel like ten times the missionary I was before, because I am able to put my trust in God and know that I'm obedient and faithful enough that He can give me my righteous desires. I've seen our prayers fulfilled this week more than I have my entire life. It is truly all about confidence in receiving an answer, then remembering and searching for that answer. To the obedient and faithful, they come. Sometimes we are obedient and faithful, but we still don't see answers. To those who feel this way, I would suggest looking again, because I truly know that everything that God does is in favour of what is best for us. Maybe the answer you thought would come isn't there, yet there was a far greater purpose served because of what happened. Exercise patience and really look for your answer :) It will come.
I'm just about out of time again. Remind me again to talk about Brother Mcluckie and a correlation meeting that changed my mission :) Photos will again have to wait, sorry. Also, I still haven't received my package. Zone conference is this next Friday. As for Mother's day, I'll be calling you a day before so we can set it up, we don't quite know what is happening with our members.
I love you. Talk to you soon :)
Cheers,
Elder Foster
