So I kinda biffed it on my bike and ripped a hole in a pair of my pants.
Sad day...but at least I didn't get hit by a car. My companion did when I was in the MTC...so at least it wasn't that bad.
Man I am sorry to hear about Shawn [a childhood friend from our ward who passed away this week]. That's really awful. Send my condolences to their family and I will keep them in my prayers.
I got the jump drive and its working well. I am putting music on it right now and I am going to back up all of my photos on it too. I will send some more photos after this email. Did you get the ones I sent you last week???
My week was really tough. We had to drop a lot of people (including J) because they weren't progressing any more, so that kind of sucked. We knocked into a guy the other day, though, that came to Sacrament yesterday and asked when he could be baptized. So right now we have him (J) and S, who the sisters found for us and set up for a baptism on the 19th. They are pretty solid, so pray for them :)
We had some amazing Fajitas an Argentinian mother made us to break our fast yesterday, which was the greatest thing ever. Her son is about to leave for his mission to Brasil in 8 days, so I think she is going to get really involved with the missionaries now haha ;) It'll be great :)
Elder Dube from the seventy came and trained the north half of our mission this week. It was awesome hearing from him about how to use our wards most effectively in hastening the work. It was also awesome because I got to see Sister Tilby, who was in the MTC with me, and Elder Wride, who was my companion at the MTC. It was way exciting catching up with them. I am probably going to see them a lot because there aren't very many English areas in our mission, so I'm really excited for that. It's weird being an English missionary in the U.S and being the minority, but it's super fun too :)
I actually haven't started using the scripture marking stuff yet because my set of scriptures right now are really destroyed. I think I am going to start using the marking set when I get a new quad. Mine is on it's last leg here.
[I asked him what aspect of his mission he is enjoying the most and what aspect is most taxing/trying] I really love knocking doors now. Without a doubt its my favorite. Which is weird because before my mission I was soooo afraid of doing it haha :) The part that is hardest is to see people make progress and then hit a wall or have family completely shut them down. There was an amazing lady who was going to get baptized this Saturday who got completely shut down by her family who hate the church...which sucked.
I have been reading in Mosiah this week and just finished today. It's one of my favorites in the BofM because you can really see how the Lord plans out everything he does for his people perfectly. He really is the greatest :)
I want to have you guys start sending me things you want me to pray for and I will do the same for you with investigators...because prayer is the greatest. I was inspired to knock a certain complex this week and because of that we found a lady who was really prepared to be taught and wants to be baptized. The only complication is that for the next two weeks she will "drown" because she breathes through a tube in her neck (because she was poisoned a while ago). SHE HAS BEEN DECLARED DEAD SIX TIMES!!!! Its crazy. She said that dying doesn't hurt though...which is good I guess haha ;)
I love you all...and send me stuff I can pray for :) I will email you next week. You guys are the greatest :)
